The Apostle Paul writes:
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:12, 13, NIV).
Local congregations have also learned to be content in all situations. Sometimes we don’t seem to have what we need, yet the Lord does not forget us. Sometimes we don’t seem to have the money for our ministries, yet the Lord blesses us. The reason we are content is because God gives us the strength we need. That was Paul’s experience and that can be ours, too.
Today’s offering is for our local church. Ask the Lord to help you decide what you should give and remember that whatever you give, our church will be able to fulfill its mission because God will strengthen us.
