JANUARY 3: Local Church Budget

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a worldwide movement, but the local church is the center of church ministry. Sabbath School, divine worship, Pathfinder programs, Community Services, evangelism, and many other programs and activities take place in thousands of Seventh-day Adventist churches around the world. These activities take place because church members generously give of their time, talents, and means.

Today is the first Sabbath of the New Year. I thank you for supporting the programs of this congregation. As we look forward to this year, may each of us commit to supporting our congregation so that the Lord will be glorified in our communities.

Today’s offering is for the ministries and operations of our church. Let us be faithful stewards by returning the tithe and giving an offering according to the means that God has entrusted us.

In Proverbs 11:25 (NIV) we are told that “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” At the start of this year, let us thank God for the blessings we receive when are faithful with our tithe and generous with our offerings. God is generous with us; let us also be generous.

Thank you.
