We often talk of having a relationship with Jesus Christ, but what does that mean? Stewardship, in its truest Biblical sense, is the relationship that is called for between Christ and His people. Jesus was the supreme example of faithful stewardship. This stewardship relationship was the one that Jesus referred to when in Matthew 11:27 He said:

“All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father.”

Then He brings us into the picture in Matthew 12:50 by saying:

“For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.”

This is the relationship that all should seek and it can only be obtained by living all of life in a God-centered way. The stewardship life is the model for how we will live in Heaven.

Appeal: Today’s offering is for our local ministry and maintenance needs. Being a member of the church is not like being a part of a club. When you become a member you are agreeing to support the work of Christ in and through this body of believers. Let’s pray.

Prayer: Gracious Lord and Savior, please bless this offering and our church. Help us to grow in your grace and become faithful stewards, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
