Today’s offering: Our Church Budget
In Psalm 84:1, 2, David tells us how much he loves to be in the presence of God in His temple. He says, “How lovely is Your tabernacle, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” Still later in the chapter, David again declares, “Blessed are those who dwell in your house, they are ever praising you.” And finally in verse 10 David continues the theme, “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.”
David loved to experience the presence of God in His Temple. It was there he communed with God, brought his praises, his offerings and his sacrifices.
Today, the offerings that we have brought as our act of worship will be for our church. With God’s blessings, it will support our local ministries that others too might come and enjoy the blessings of God’s house.
Let’s pray, “Lord, it is good to be in Your house this morning. It is a joy to be in Your presence always, and especially today, Your holy Sabbath day. We have gathered as Your people to honour You and worship You. We present these gifts to You because we love You. Bless Your church we pray in Jesus name, Amen. “
