Today’s offering: Our Church Budget
Matthew tells the story of the disciples in a boat on the Sea of Galilee. After seeing Jesus walk on the water, Peter decided to get out of a boat. You’ll remember he soon began to sink. But Jesus was there to rescue him. After he and Jesus got back into the boat the winds died down. The disciples responded in worship. Jesus was worshipped as a result of what He did and who He was. He was recognized as the Son of God, the one who controls the storms. Many times when the word ‘worship’ is used in the Bible it is used in the context of a response; a response to who God is or to what He has done.
Praise God! Jesus still calms storms today. He is still in control of the storm. Will you respond to Him in worship today? Let’s worship Him, the one who creates and sustains by bringing to Him His tithes and our offerings of thanksgiving.
Let’s pray: “Father, you are above all. You hold us in your hands and we are safe. We worship you today for who You are and all that You do to help us through our storms. Please bless the tithes and offerings that we bring today, so that those of us in our local Church and community may see you clearer and grow to love You more deeply. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.”
