―Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‗Honor your father and mother‘—which is the first commandment with a promise— ‗so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.‘‖ Ephesians 6:1–3 (NIV)

**********

Here we see children are commanded to obey their parents, but this is also something that parents are to teach their children. Parents are to train their children to respect authority. This is foundational to our society. Parents are responsible for the training of their children but not responsible for their choices. Parents are stewards of their children.

Parenting can be an extremely challenging aspect of life. The Seventh-day Adventist church was guided long ago, by God, to establish an education system that would help godly parents in the training of their children. This training is intended to augment the work of the home. It is also designed to help the children learn to make responsible decisions and choices in their life‘s journey.

Appeal: The offering today is for World Budget and several of our higher educational institutions received funds from the World Budget. Loma Linda and Andrews University along with Oakwood University are among those who benefit from your offerings today.
