Cultivating Generosity in the Digital Space

How do you make an impact in the area of stewardship when you have multiple responsibilities and very little time to spend on it? One simple technique is to make sure you have a respectable web presence for the ministry. By having a page on your union or conference website devoted to stewardship you can provide resources and ideas that local individuals and congregations can help themselves to as needed.  Even if you don’t have the time or financial resources to make your own materials, NAD Stewardship Ministries and GC Stewardship Ministries have a rich variety of materials you can pull from to suit your local needs.

An Awesome Website

We want to congratulate the Georgia-Cumberland Conference stewardship ministries department for having an engaging stewardship web page with lots of resources.  When you open the stewardship page the first thing you see is a video of one of the 7 Ts of Stewardship produced by the NAD, followed by videos about AdventistGiving.org.

As you navigate and scroll down the page you will see the following heading and definition:

True Stewardship…

accepts Jesus Christ, not only as Savior, but also as the Lord of our lives.

God has blessed and entrusted us with time, talents, resources and much more.

Stewardship is centered in a relationship with God and acknowledges Him as Creator, recognizing that He is the owner of everything. (Psalm 50:10-12)

We are expected to be faithful in doing our very best to manage what God, in His infinite love, has given us.

While Stewardship involves more than money, it is clearly seen in faithfulness with God’s tithes and our offerings. Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).

The mission of the Grateful Living Department is to lead the members and churches of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference toExperience the joy of giving and impacting the world for God — Who is the Great Giver.”

The Grateful Living ministry department does that by conducting workshops, providing materials and assisting local church leaders in presenting a Christ-centered approach to a healthy and balanced stewardship emphasis.

On the side bar, the Georgia-Cumberland Conference has the Calendar of Offerings and the Offertory Readings in English and Spanish.  There are all kinds of other resources included.

The Big Question for You

Do you have a quality stewardship page on your union or conference website?

We want to encourage you to talk to your website person and do the necessary updates; so, when your members are looking for materials, they can easily find them.
